Job Description
Efficient Plant Operations
• Ensures strategic alignment of Plant Operations with Business Goals.
• Promote and share plant best practices with other Plant Managers
• Evaluate and identify rubber/ raw material inventory and through best-in-class inventory management processes
• Establish and maintain various certification processes (e.g., ISO) and follow the guidelines
• Ensure all company policies and safety regulations are understood and followed by all plant personnel by holding monthly safety meetings
• Monitor and control all plant expenses keeping within guidelines and parameters by regular review of the Plant’s P&L, general ledger and accurate productivity reports
• Ensure overall profitability of the plant operations
• Ensure that scheduled equipment maintenance is undertaken and is logged as required by equipment manufacturer specs

Workforce Management
• Maintains good working relationships with all employees and ensures they are aware of their job duties and responsibilities
• Hires, trains, and motivates technicians, and administrative support personnel and maintains the appropriate workforce as required
• Works closely with the Sales Manager (at Head Office) and the location Sales team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintaining a proper work schedule of employees to achieve maximum productivity and minimal overtime
• Promote cooperation between all departments in the plant
• Ensures the smooth functioning of the factory by maintaining cordial relationships with Labour Unions as required

Manufacturing Management
• Maximize and leverage the use of data for manufacturing decisions
• Manage as per production plan schedules to achieve the daily/monthly targets of the company through efficient, quality and cost-effective production
• Ensure Overall Production effectiveness (OPE)/ Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for achievement of all Production Targets
• Improve profitability by process improvement, focus on value added products at optimal cost
• Work closely with the COO to develop short and long term operational strategy in line with company vision and ensure implementation
• Directs the plant toward excellence in manufacturing through development of practices and initiatives that provide the Company with a competitive manufacturing advantage in areas such as, but not limited to, energy conservation, workstation redesign, workflow, process improvement, process standardization, variation reduction, and facilities management

Operational compliance

• Maintain plant compliance on operations by defined operating procedures
• Ensure compliance on Health, Safety, Environment and Employment regulations
• Directs activities related to the manufacturing plant’s operations regarding capacity planning, capital and manpower planning, project justifications and financial support, manufacturing cost-down initiatives, and metric analysis and visual management
• Drive actions towards removal of waste/ constraints from the production process to improve efficiency and enhance productivity
