About our Client

Our client has successfully grown into one of the largest and most successful retail company; they have been in the retail business for over 4 Decades

They are dedicated to providing unmatched excellence in service to our customers

Our client is searching for a President who will have overall management responsibility for Company operations with significant emphasis on setting the overall strategy of the Company

In collaboration with the management team, they will be responsible for overall strategic development and implementation with the organization

This position provides leadership and direct supervision of the management team

Duties include strategic planning, operational oversight and growth of the organization

Job description

Core Responsibilities Include:

Provide leadership and management discipline to ensure that the Company's mission and core values are maintained

Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to various business challenges

Foster a success-oriented and accountable environment within the Company

Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and operating processes

Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and direct implementation activities

Formulate and implement the strategic plan that guides the direction of the business

Work with the leadership team and board of directors to design and develop the vision and plan to set the direction

Responsible and accountable for all Company performance, financial and operational

Evaluate, improve upon and approve Company operational procedures, policies, and standards

Evaluate performance of executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the Company and contributions in attaining objectives

Communicates openly, proactively and transparently: Maintains a strict "no surprises" policy with the board

The President is fully and effortlessly transparent on the implications and risks of strategic decisions

The President frequently represents the organization in civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community, the state, and at the national level

We require someone with the following:

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex alternatives, select directions and articulate clear goals and objectives

Successful acquisition analysis and integration experience

Facilitator of change

Very good verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills

A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-3 year time span

The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

Education and Experience

15+ years of Executive Leadership experience

Must be a current or former operational executive (CEO, COO, President, SVP, GM, MD, etc)

Building Supply or retail industry experience desired

Financial acumen experience

Experience directing and leading a team

Strategic planning and implementation experience

Experience developing and managing both existing and new ventures to expand the footprint

Experience working with a Board of Directors

Proven track record of growing a Company
