Designation: Legal Secretary

Job Description:

Enhances attorney effectiveness by providing information management support; representing the attorney to clients and others

 Job Duties:

·        Responsible for reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; organizing conferences, and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and preparing expense reports, case preparation

·        Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions, recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering; anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements.

·        Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.

·        Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems; recording meeting discussions; maintaining transcripts; documenting and maintaining evidence.

·        Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Specifications:

·           Should update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks

·           Should have knowledge of commercial contracts and must be to handle legal aspects of SRA & redevelopment projects

·           Should be able to apply legal, business, and analytical skills to all legal matters

·           Should be able to draft sale agreements, affidavits, power of attorney, etc.

·           Should be able to help the due diligence, screening of documents, search, and statuary compliances to mitigate possible risks

·         Strong command over written and spoken English with strong negotiation skills and interpersonal skills

·           Must have a Bachelors / Master of Laws degree
