Job Description

This position is ideal for someone who has thrived as the technical focal point conducting services presentations and meetings with prospects and customers. As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will have a significant impact on the success of each sales presentation in which you participate and will share in its financial rewards. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of pre-sales engineering: creating proposals, responding to RFI/RFP/RFQ, analyzing requirements, discussing details with customers/ suppliers and internal teams. Also, it will be necessary to handover, and to ensure that the "as-sold" project is being properly engineered. This role requires an individual with 10+ years of IP network implementation utilizing a range of IP network devices. Client facing skills are essential with good planning, co-ordination, technical writing and proven hands-on experience. The role will expand upon your existing networking skills and introduce both In-house and 3rd party technologies.

Responsibilities
• Assess prospective customer needs and uncover requirements for ExterNetworks
• Demonstrate products to technical and non-technical audiences, at executive and/or technical levels, and at pre- and post-sales meetings
• Articulate the technical value proposition and key differentiating capabilities to prospective new customers and solutions partners
• Prepare and present technical SOW, proposals and RFIs
• Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure all aspects of the sale are aligned
• Identify market and service requirements based on field experience and customer input
• Provide post-sales follow-up, technical training, and consulting
• Ensure total customer satisfaction with the customer's implementation experience
• Ability to demonstrate complete understanding of TCP/IP networking

Background:
1. Must have 10 years of experience in creating proposals and responding to RFI/RFP/RFQ, analyzing requirements.
2. Good to have knowledge about Cisco/Juniper Networks/ShoreTel/Avaya/Aruba products and services.
3. Minimum 10 years in technical roles with previous experience including pre-sales responsibilities.
4. Minimum 5 years’ experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers.
5. Must have an understanding of how to identify and install industry best practices.
6. Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language for end users.
7. Extensive experience and certification in the Cisco, routing, switching, wireless and security product suites.
8. Cisco CCNA required. CCIE Collaboration a plus.
9. Must have Routing and Switching knowledge with an understanding of routing protocols and networking fundamentals including previous 6500, FWSM, CSM, Firewall, VPN and Wireless experience.
10. Good to have understanding with Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco UCS infrastructure
11. Experience performing network and wireless assessments
12. Good to have Wireless networking and security design experience
13. Experience with business and functional requirements collection
14. Good to have understanding large scale MPLS or Unified Communications deployments a plus
15. Good to have understanding on protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP and static routes.
