Origin Consultants Pvt Ltd has been retained by A Leading Manufacturer of Surfactants to identify a Head- Global Sales & Marketing to be based at Chennai

Job Description

As a Head- Global Sales & Marketing your responsibilities include the following
  • Spearhead the Global business development activities across the organization.
  • Develop and execute business development strategy and plan, both short term and long term range, to ensure achievement of company sales targets, growth in profits and expansion of company products and services.
  • Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and demographic factors so that the market opportunities can be capitalized on and effects of competition may be minimized.
  • Provide updates and inputs to Senior Management on current progress and future sales plans. He will also provide inputs to the management on support required to achieve these future sales plan in terms of infrastructure and capability enhancement.
  • Direct and manage team of Zonal Managers & Regional Managers spread across the globe along with India Based International Business Development Team.
  • Solicit all relevant business directly and jointly with his team through the preparation, execution and completion of global account action plans.
  • Support and provide key inputs to Zonal Managers from time to time regarding various sales campaigns.
  • Develop effective sales tools in coordination with Zonal Managers and work alongside the management team in identifying potential and new market opportunities.
  • Analyze month-end/quarterly/annual reports, review and implement action plans to address market share penetration and other marketing initiatives.
  • Track monthly performance of the Group and to be pro actively involved in each annual sales and marketing budget planning process.
  • Plan and execute key sales trips to different market segment/region, and support relevant Zonal Managers to do their job effectively.
  • Collates communication of competitor information and claims from different market segments and ensures that any adverse affects to business are acted upon instantly.
  • Be fully aware of the needs and workings of different market segments.
  • Ensure sales presentations are conducted in a professional manner and reflect the image of the company and market segment / clients to which it is directed.
  • Manage relationships with alliance partners.
  • Encourage customer feedback regarding product and services in order to be proactive and resolve any concerns and/or pass on information to Director Marketing.
  • Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Sales team to build motivation and selling skills.
  • Work in close cooperation with all key functions (Operations, Logistics and Finance) and help to maximise the capabilities of the business.
  • Sets examples for Sales team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits

Desired Candidate Profile
  • MBA with 15 to 25 years of experience in Sales / International Sales
  • Knowledge of chemical industry preferred
  • Deeply believe in and demonstrate a relentless focus on the client and the client experience. Able to partner with sales and account for impact on sales processes when developing programs.
  • Demonstrate that individual accomplishments are measured by the success of team.
  • Ability to use data to inform a point of view and articulate analysis at a high level, develop business goals and objectives, and ensure that tactical decisions support strategies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to partner effectively across an organization and constructively engage in challenging conversations with internal and external partners
  • Excellent management skills and strong project management skills
  • Able to effectively drive towards completion of deliverables
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment. Flexibility is essential as is the ability to drive implementation in an environment where there is ambiguity and change.
