Position Summary: The Functional Safety Manager will be part of a team responsible for all activities of ISO 26262 Safety-Lifecycle required in developing high end, embedded automotive products. Furthermore the position will support RFI/RFQ for FUSA requirement analysis and will handle compliance requirements with regard to FUSA.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Member of Project Core Team
  • Planning, coordination, execution and tracking Functional Safety activities
  • Accountable on functional and technical safety concepts within project
  • Support and execution of relevant quantitative and qualitative Safety Analysis (e.g. FMEA,FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP etc.,)
  • Moderation and participation of technical inspections
  • Creation of project safety plan, safety cases, safety strategy, document flow etc.,
  • Support in functional safety management activities as per ISO 26262 during concept, product development and production phases
  • Develop and maintain functional safety plan, safety cases in the project
  • Project functional safety compliance assurance- Perform confirmation reviews, functional safety audit and assessments.
  • Provide vote for all project safety maturity gate review.
  • Ensure that Key, Identified Program deliverables are completed on time per the project schedule and meet eexcellent quality standards
  • Strong collaboration and cooperation with Program Manager, Project Manager, Architects, Developers, Testers and Customer
  • Support projects in development of Functional Safety requirements (Technical Safety Requirements, Hardware Safety Requirements, Software Safety Requirements)
  • Coordination of Quality methods in the project
  • Ensure process compliancy within the development project
  • Ensure project compliance with ISO26262, demonstration of risks along product development / product life cycle
  • Interface with the customers and support the supplier interface on functional safety requirements and clarifications
  • Support program manager to monitor supplier for safety critical sub-contracted work against activities agreed in the DIA
  • Report the progress of safety lifecycle to program management and Preventive Quality with tailoring of product lifecycle (Q-Gates)
  • Ensure confidence in usage of software tools being used by the project
  • Competency development within team to adhere functional safety compliance
  • Support evaluation of customer change requests with regards to functional safety impact


Basic Qualifications and competencies : .
  • University degree in the Engineering field and certified Functional Safety Manager& ASPICE assessor
  • Extensive experience in Automotive Engineering and Development as well as experience in Functional Safety implementation
  • Extensive knowledge on System, Hardware and Software
  • Experience in creation of safety concepts and analysis (FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA)
  • Knowledge about product development process
  • Experience in project and quality management
  • Profound knowledge in ISO 26262 and IEC 61508, Automotive SPICE/CMMI including legal aspects
  • Experience in creation of project safety plan/Quality plan
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong skills in communication, presentation and problem solving (customer and internal)
  • Flexible and autonomous working with global interfaces
  • Knowledge of configuration and change management rules and tools
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies
  • English business fluent


Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
  • Experince of electrical product design or engineering
  • Experince of failure analysis for electrical product
  • Experince of pilot factory process & quality management.
  • Experience in Product life cycle management: Development, Operation, Service or Maintanence

Other: Preferred skills
  • Provable experience on Project management and resouce management skills
  • Experience in system/hardware/software level product development
  • Provable experience in development of products in compliance with standard ASPICE
  • Hands-on experience in implementing ASIL compliant systems in accordance with ISO26262
  • Knowledge on FUSA qualification on softwrae tools, components and evaluation of hardware compoenents
  • Understand the requirements, architecture, design and methodologies in the field of automotive domain
