Job Description
Primary Role:

The main purpose of this role is to carry out detailed signalling designs and assist with signalling projects. Provide technical support, mentoring, and advice as required in support of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Producing detailed signalling designs

• Implement design scope in accordance with company standards and procedures

• Provide technical guidance and working with the team to ensure that technical queries are resolved satisfactorily

• Assist with the planning and management of projects including time and resource allocation

• Providing support / mentoring to assistant designers ensuring that they fully understand the signalling design scope.

• Attend in-house and external training sessions for your own IRSE log book update for review

• Liase with Group Leaders, Senior Engineers or Engineers and other discipline members of project team on project specifications and requirements to establish a shared understanding of design scope, budget, time constraints, success indicators, quality, environmental and safety standards, and perform design tasks accordingly.

• Knowledge of RRI, SSI or Mechanical systems ideally all three.

• Compliance with Standards, Specification, Work Scope

• Compliance with Quality, Competency, OHS, Environmental and Safety requirements

• Ability to work without supervision and in a team work environment

• Follow up clients and stakeholders to ensure the timely approvals of designs / documents submitted

• Update design drawings

• Ensure quality in all work minimising rework with attitude of "Right First Time"

• Ensure efficiency, effectiveness, timeliness, customer service, safety and reliability at all times

• Provide feedback & weekly reports, ensure timely execution of work assigned, and manage appropriate documentation and all other tasks assigned

• Assist in managing document control process

• Assist with competency, licensing and membership


Skills and Requirements:

• To hold IRSE License 1.1.150C/D or equivalent as a minimum.

• Appropriate technical qualification or equivalent

• Signalling construction methods and installation experience
