Job Description of Deputy Manager

Basic Information of Role

Job Title: Deputy Manager
Based at: Pune CO

Department: MMD
Reports to: Head Procurement

Direct Reports:

Section One : Job Purpose:

This position is for the raw material procurement, Planning of materials and Imports function.

Section Two : Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Sourcing of Direct goods:
Procurement of direct raw materials; local, imported and trading goods.
Develop alternate vendor for Imports.
Drive localization/regionalization programs.
Market research and analysis to gauge the demand supply dynamics for buying with right price.
Prepare and support for the negotiation of quarterly price contract for key raw materials.
Implement the risk mitigation strategy to avoid the stock out of raw materials.
Planning of Raw materials & Packaging Materials:
Lead Planning and scheduling activities of raw material & packaging materials.
Monitor inventory level, in plant level, shipment in transit, open stocks at supplier end, in order to sustain overall agreed inventory level.
Proactively communicate to MRP stakeholders for increase or decrease in requirement against forecast.
Mitigate shortages through various supply chain initiatives like quarterly norms revision, localization of goods, improve supplier delivery services.
Monitor and plan tank materials on daily basis.
Plan the import goods in order to improve cost position.
Import Clearance:
Planning & implementing movement of products, equipment, materials in of the country as per organizational policies & procedures and local/ country/ international legislations.
Liaising withImportauthorities and suppliers in all territories to for efficient operations.
Strategizingimportplans and activities with the aim of achieving with overall aims and requirements of the organization.
Maintaining effective and lawful insurance provisions relating toimportactivities.
Monitoring shipping schedules, letters of credits, packing, routing, transport and safety documentation.
Supervising warehouse stocks on daily basis and planning delivery mode based on production date / factory requirement - ship mode selection based on cargo weight.
Tracking theimportsconsignments in daily basis, updating & checking inventory on daily basis and implementing corrective measures to avoid any delays/over inventory stock.
Administering LC process, bill of loading, AWB supplier payments and payment follow-ups for all suppliers/ forwarders/CHA.
Liaised with CHA for clearing the goods from customs and factory for getting material status and accordingly planning the shipment
Prepared pre-shipment and post-shipment documents.
Coordinated with DGFT for Advance Licenses, FMS Licenses, EPCG Licenses & other documentation.
ISO Procedures:
Lead auditee for the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and 18001:2007 system.
  • Process upgradation and process mapping with the existing processes.
  • Lead the external as well as internal audit and close the open audit points.
  • Monthly monitor the open audit points and take the corrective actions.
