Job Description
1. Head – Communication, Mumbai


Post graduate in Mass Communications or an equivalent diploma/degree in the relevant field.

Responsible to lead the development and execution of the varied organizational communication strategies, to raise the profile of the organization, and harness the power of the electronic and print media in leveraging the brand for the last mile connectivity and outreach for promoting a child-friendly ecosystem in the country, and to support international linkages to build more sustainable synergies.

7 to 9 years experience in developing and implementing communications strategy preferably with non-profit sector or with reputed communications agency

A.) Brand building & Marketing

• To position NGO as high value-adding organization with stakeholders such as funding agencies, corporate sector and the Indian public.

• Lead the development of NGO’s overall brand and profile strategies, so as to create higher visibility of NGO and its Purpose with key target audiences.

• Coordinate with the Programs Team to ensure effective alignment between NGO’s Program work, and brand building, marketing and communications interventions.

• Facilitate digital fundraising for achieving the online fundraising targets.

B.) Communications Materials

• Developing information and communication design and communications guideline flows at NGO to various verticals of the organization and setting up a documentation, communication and dissemination system for creating resource material ( Audio, Visual, Print )

• Promote innovative use of IT and disseminate accurate, clear and consistent messages and communication materials to well targeted stakeholders.

• Design various communication materials like E-Mail Appeals, Brochures, Newsletters, Annual reports, donor reports, Fundraising sales Kits, other branding materials Etc

C.) Reports and Financial Resource Management

• Responsible for the preparation of an annual departmental operation plan, justifying resource allocations, and clear ROI estimation

• Develop advance planning to adhere to communication plan timeline for content and communication material preparation.

• Ensure that all required procurement and contracting of external services are effectively managed.

• Monitor the progress and report tangible outcomes of branding efforts to the Line Manager and senior management team.

D.) Represent Communications in leadership forums

Competencies :

• Experience of overseeing existing communications channels, including websites, social media accounts, newsletters, and media relationships

• Experience managing communications teams, and partnering closely with various skillsets - design, content creation, social media - that go into crafting effective key messages and disseminating them to the right audience

• Experience working with freelance resources for design, video production, and photography

• Proven expertise in managing web, social and multimedia communications

• Has a natural command of narrative, and is up-to-date with the latest developments, tools, and strategies in digital storytelling

• Great team leadership and management skills.
