What We’re Looking for in an IT & Programming Lesson Writer



You’re an expert in your field. You might hold one or more professional certifications. You’d like to use your knowledge and experience to help others prepare for a certification exam, advance their career, or simply cultivate new skills for the workplace.

We’re looking for professionals passionate in their field who can contribute to our library of short, engaging online career training lessons. Our ideal contract lesson writer is creative, collaborative and responsive. To help us provide helpful quality instruction to our professional audience, you’ll need to have the following qualifications:•Have expert knowledge in information technology, computer science, and/or one or more computer programming languages

-Have helped teach or train others on IT & Computer Science topics (not required but a plus!)

Responsibilities of an IT & Programming Lesson Writer

Study.com lessons are designed to help students learn when they're on-the-go in any location. They're intended to be bite-d so that students can complete them throughout their day when they find free time. Each lesson should typically take a student only 5-10 minutes to complete.

Our IT & Programming Lesson Writers will be responsible for the following:


Writing 500 to 1000-word lessons on granular concepts from the fields of information technology, computer science, and programming

Writing short, multiple choice quizzes to ensure that students retain information in lessons

Working with Study.com's team of reviewers to revise and edit the lessons they've written to meet Study.com publishing standards

This is strictly a writing role; there is no formal teaching involved.
