Job Description
Basic Qualifications:



-Excellent written and verbal communication

-Bachelor- s/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

-12-20 years of software development experience and significant experience leading large teams

-Excellent analytical ability

-Sound understanding of CS Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms

-Deep understanding of object-oriented design concepts

-Extensive knowledge of common design patterns

-Experience being part of cross functional teams and having participated in end to end product development and having successfully launched products

-Knowledge and experience in instrumentation, metrics and monitoring concepts

-Experience and interest in closely working with business and other leaders in defining the roadmap of the product, developing the design and implementation plan and developing them

-Experience as a manager of managers

-Strong Customer focus

IT And Technology Governance:



-Participate in the technology governance of the company by constituting and partaking in technology steering committees

-Drive development and maintenance of Information Security policies and IT policies and procedures to ensure firm objectives are achieved and risks are controlled

-Drive the development of and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity policies for the company

-Oversee the procurement and maintenance of the entire IT infrastructure keeping a view on changing and growing business requirements by planning adequately to meet current and future demand

Expectations:



Engineering (Software Development):

-Work with the business teams, product management team and users to understand and define the vision for product platform and lead all aspects of software development

-Co-create a roadmap for development of the platform balancing short-term feature/project requirements with long term strategic initiatives and managing technical debt

-Define and oversee the development of the technical architecture of all major software including the primary product platform

-Define and oversee adherence to policies and processes for business teams to engage with the engineering team for development of new features, production issues, customer/stakeholder feedback and larger projects and get them developed and delivered

-Drive the development of, maintenance of and adherence to software development lifecycle processes

-Inculcate a culture of agile execution amidst ambiguous, changing product requirements and aggressive timelines

-Define and develop the organizational structure that is well positioned to deliver on the company's software needs and requirements

-Adequately allocate and staff resources for the engineering team

-Develop, track and control annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations

-Drive the achievement of high standards in delivered software quality, adherence to processes and in talent acquisition

-Define and directly manage the day to day work and performance of engineering leaders in the organization

-Ensure that engineering leaders are delivering in the short term by developing features while constantly looking out for building fundamental components that will serve the company's growing needs in the future
