Job Description
We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join the Thomson Reuters Elite – Business Development technology team. The ideal candidate will work with the big data assets of Business Development Premier and assist with taxonomy maintenance and enhancements. The candidate will be part of the data operations team and provide assistance and act as a liaison among the engineering team, internal sponsors and external customers in order to:

Assist in understanding the requirements for a given product, or process, or system and collection/analysis of that data.

Review basic product needs, instructions and regulations for low to medium level Projects.

Document requirements and assist in communicating the requirements to internal stakeholders.

Undertake user requirements testing and/ or User Acceptance testing and technical implementation with guidance.

Develop an understanding of customer and/or product needs in the context of internal and external requirements for software development. 

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the elicitation and documentation of business requirements.

Begin to outline improvements and revisions for low complexity or standard business processes with guidance from more experienced colleagues.

Translate basic or low complexity business requirements into technical solutions with guidance.

Maintain a relationship with stakeholders

Use a structured requirements process to assess near-term needs.

Adhere to metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.

Liaise between business and technology teams to ensure change management and communication of change to team is done in a systematic way for low complexity projects

Implement improvements to process or product as directed by management.

Develop a basic awareness and understanding of Thomson Reuters technologies, products, and services, including a basic understanding of how technical solutions impact the business.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and skills


Experience in information systems, business operations, and requirements analysis 
General understanding of the client's existing business processes, the key drivers and measures of success of the business

Passion for maintaining BIG Data applications and taxonomy maintenance

Basic understanding of the overall Development or internal systems architecture in order to understand the issues & implications of proposed systems & hardware solutions.

Requires some relevant technical or business work experience, ideally a background in business area supported.

Experience in application development life cycle and business process development.

Basic understanding of requirements management best practice and ensures these practices are used.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Basic analysis skills and ability to facilitate meetings and other business needs

Working knowledge web based and cloud applications.
