Job Description
Position: Assistant Manager – Process & Projects

Experience: 8+ Years

Location: Near Baroda
Qualification: BE / B. Tech in Chemical

Job Profile:

Tools Knowledge:

1. SAP :

a. Functional Knowledge for PR, PO & Project related reports in MM Module of SAP

2. Microsoft Office

a. Should be powerful in MS Excel & Word & Power point

b. MS Project know how is an added advantage

3. Auto CAD : working knowledge to access & view the details from CAD files

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Engineering

a. Conceptualize & define the project. Act as the process lead on studies and projects

b. Develop process engineering in coordination with R&D

i. Prepare feasibility study & cost benefit analysis

ii. Should arrange Pilot scale trials if needed for the scale up

c. Estimate the project cost- element wise

d. Prepare & review PFD, P&ID & Equipment Lay out

i. Specify equipment & instruments

1. Critical equipment like – Pump, Filters, pipe, valves, Reactors, Agitators, Vessels/Tanks, Solvent Extraction Systems, Heat Exchangers.

ii. Review the documents with other discipline for an input & validation

iii. Develop safety interlocks for the systems designed

iv. Co ordinate for the project engineering with

1. Execution team of civil engineer, mechanical engineer, E&I engineer

e. Lead & participate in HAZOP / PHA/FMEA / Safety study

f. Close co ordination with Procurement team for timely delivery of equipment / systems

i. Includes preparing Purchasing Strategy

ii. Prepare Procurement Plan with purchase team

iii. Plan & Conduct FAT & SAT for critical equipment / systems

g. Develop the project schedule with milestones – detailed up to level 4

i. Prepare execution plan

ii. Identify the critical path for timely project completion

iii. Progress monitoring & control of the project execution

iv. Project Risk Identification & mitigation plan

h. Review erection & installation with execution team to ensure the planning

i. Pre commissioning & Commissioning of the plant / equipment / system

i. Review of the system installed in parallel to mechanical completion

1. Certify Mechanical completion as per P&ID & Lay out

ii. Pre commission of the systems – dry run

iii. Commissioning of the systems – water trials

iv. Start up of the system – with RM charging.

v. Pre Start up Safety Review

j. Project documentation & hand over to Operations team

2. Process Optimization:

a. Understand the process & chalk out a plan for de bottlenecking & process optimization & Intensification.

b. Present Cost Benefit Analysis to management for an approval

c. Follow the change management procedure

d. Get execution of the required modifications

e. Validate the results & update the records & documentation

3. Vendor Development:

a. Should be able to assess the vendor /contractor for the capabilities offered

b. Develop new vendors / upgrade the existing vendors for new requirements

Soft Skills:

• Should be good team player & team leader

• Should have learning attitude

• Should possess good presentation skills

• Knowledge of MSP would be added advantage
