Job Description

As an Area Business Manager your responsibilities include the following
  • Identify potential markets for business/ service in the dealers territory create infrastructure of outlets & deploy manpower
  • Analyze dealer effectiveness in his given territory & ensure effective area coverage
  • Facilitate joint understanding of markets, set targets, achieve sales target, service standards and distribution/ promotion objectives
  • Guide & facilitate channel partners in secondary sales/ service network development
  • Determine & generate demand for companys products from knowledge of market- total market potential, industry/ environment trends and competition as well as using forecasting tools
  • Carries out cost benefit analysis of events to recommend continuance or otherwise
  • Identify potential new customers and retain existing customers, understand their needs, and build & maintain relationships with institutional customers on an on- going basis so as to achieve the status of a preferred supplier and targeted share of the customers business
  • Scan market environment to recognize business trends! and identify opportunities and to determine their profit potential
  • Monitors / Benchmarks competitions products and marketing strategies; develops / recommends appropriate responses
  • Understand the industry / market and to formulate and deploy marketing strategies after evaluating various alternatives in the light of organizations goals and objectives / resources and competitive environment
  • Apply knowledge/ understanding of market research concepts, methodologies and techniques to identify the need for, commission and interpret market research.
  • Act as an interface between the Product development / Marketing team and t! he end customers.
  • Understand financial aspects of business & employ this knowledge to further business both with the dealers & the end customers
  • Ensure commercial discipline- operating without dealer outstanding, clear statutory norms, effective management of taxes, compliance with legal aspects etc.
  • Credit Policy implementation ensuring channel compliance with company policy on paid stock/advancing/physical stocks.
  • Formulate pricing strategies / structure & discounts/schemes for customers and ability to analyz! e the financial implications of a decision.
  • Create an environment of customer centric operation within the area office/regional office team & dealership.
  • Ensure exemplary after sales service to customers through his team & dealer networks
  • Ability to transact with other parties keeping in mind both organizations objectives as well as other parties needs and requirements so as to arrive at a win win situation leaving a positive impact.


Desired Candidate Profile
  • B.E. / B.Tech (Mech. / Automobile) + MBA with 10 to 16 years of relevant experience in Automobile Industry.
  • Commercial Vehicle Exp is must.
  • Technical Knowledge of MCV & HCV
  • Ability to identify potential loss of good dealerships and take effective steps for their retention
  • Ability to determine need for change in dealerships and effect the disengagement smoothly
  • Ability to coordinate, motivate and guide channel partners to desired goals as per company policy
  • Presentation skills to the strategic customers.
  • Negotiation & Deal closure skills
  • Ability to guide & motivate his team to deliver results
  • Coach & mentor his team to help them develop
