Not only is Infosys a good company to start your career, it is also a great place for candidates with work experience. Apart from the opportunity of working at one India’s leading tech companies, a job at Infosys comes with a good value system, great infrastructure and facilities, attractive benefits, robust HR policies geared towards rewarding meritorious performance, and a friendly work culture. Plus, as an experienced employee, your chances of being benched are relatively low. The Infosys interview process for experienced candidates generally follows the established company pattern with questions being based around your CV.
You could apply to Infosys in a number of ways including: through job sites like Monster, registering on the company website, attending recruitment drives, the employee referral system, or via placement consultants. Sometimes, placement consultants access your CV from different job sites and apply on your behalf, and it is not unusual for candidates to be contacted by the company without even submitting a direct application!
Broadly, the selection process includes an aptitude test and two rounds of interview. Starting 2014, the company has tried to move towards mandatory aptitude testing even for senior-level lateral hires to improve the quality of their employee intake.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
The interview process for experienced candidates follows the established norm of two rounds of interview per candidate—a Technical round and an HR round. In case of critical roles, you may have to sit for two rounds of technical interview followed by an HR interview.
Technical round
Technical interview questions are generally based on your CV. The focus is on your field of specialization, projects you have worked on, obstacles faced and the method of overcoming them (to gauge your critical thinking and problem solving abilities, ability to work under pressure, etc.).
You could expect a mix of situational, behavioral and theoretical questions. You will also be assessed on your social and communication skills, confidence, attitude and behavior, so remember to be pleasant and don’t show any signs of nervousness.
HR round
Things like notice period, salary, designation, location, shift timings etc. are likely to be discussed in this round. You could also be asked customary HR questions like why you want to leave your current job, reason for applying to Infosys, strengths and weaknesses, etc. For a more detailed discussion on Infosys HR interview questions, click on this link.
The results of the selection process and your offer letter could take four to six weeks to arrive in case of a normal recruitment. In urgent recruitments, that time frame is generally cut down to a week. After they’ve joined, experienced candidates are asked to attend an induction programme and need to complete the documentation process. Once you are a bona fide Infoscian, you can look forward to a bright career with amazing perks and benefits.
