Excellent Contract Drafting and Negotiation Skills.
Legal Responses and Legal Advisory to other departments of the company
Supervision of Regulatory and Legal Affairs of the Company
Setting up internal governance or control policies and manage the impact of external issues
Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action
Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically and help the relevant department in-mitigation of the risk.
Supervise and enable decision making of the company based on ethics and integrity
Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders
Deal with external parties (regulators, external counsels, clients etc.)
Attract, develop, direct, motivate and drive performance from other team members
Draft agreements, negotiate contracts and minimize risks and maximize legal rights and contractual entitlements and benefits.
Deal with complex, significant matters that cut across legal and other functional areas of the business
Keep abreast of legislative changes and trends in corporate legal industry and those trends that affect business.
Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff, policy development.
Review and advice management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory and legal requirements, litigation management.
Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers. Regulatory compliance.
Formulate compliance checklist to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
Continuously monitor compliance with Statutory obligations and advice management accordingly.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings.
Review all contracts or any other documentation where the company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought executive management's attention.
Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities.
Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business transactions and prepare, advice on necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time.
Execute a risk-based program in compliance with Corporate standards, customer provided guidelines and best practices
Work with key stakeholders e.g. IT, HR, Admin and Information Security, business people to ensure full understanding of data flow, data integrity and systems security.
Consulting and guiding stakeholders for the implementation of appropriate controls and practices within the organization
Participate and contribute in review of the SOPs with stakeholders
