About the Opportunity In an agency setting with focus on Direct/Email Creative Production. The Director of Project Management oversees the overall project management function, providing leadership, coordination and management of the PMO processes and its functions. You will supervise multiple teams that provides project management support functions to the agency businesses. Activities such as planning projects, allocating resources, collaborating with upper management, assessing team performance, and making sure projects are completed on time and within budget. Its imperative to be able to multi-task and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. Essential job skills are leadership, managerial abilities, stamina, deadline orientation, effective communication, teamwork, and problem solving. The Director will lead implemenations/integrations within the agency for existing and new business.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees the people who lead internal or external projects from initiation to delivery
  • Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with customers to determine projectdefinition and business requirements
  • Provides budget analysis, resource allocation, and coordination of project activities that may beacross functional areas within the organization
  • Assigns and monitors work of personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment withbusiness objectives, on-time, and within budget
  • Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project


Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles, such as organization,documentation, and delegation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skillsAble to interact with staff/colleagues of varying levels
  • Able to prioritize work, and shift priorities as needed to meet aggressive deadlines andmilestones
  • Able to identify and resolve issuesAble to complete successful projects that are on schedule and receive high satisfaction results

  • Able to negotiate and manage conflict, and manage customer concerns that causedisappointment, dissatisfaction, or frustration for the customer
  • Able to identify most effective and appropriate PM methodology(ies) based on project scopeand complexity
  • Able to mentor other PMsAble to deviate from standard/established PM methodologies to accomplish dynamic project completion


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Be billable on strategic projects or accounts requiring significant oversight, including creating/evaluating project plans and monitoring project progress and delivery quality
  • Actively assess and manage the delivery resources within book of business
  • Provide oversight and monitor overall account health for book of business from a delivery andquality standpoint
  • Troubleshoot project issues with account mgmt and engage appropriate resources as needed
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to team
  • Proactively work to improve delivery quality, repeatability and on time delivery of key projectsas part of both project work and/or strategic company initiatives
  • Able to negotiate and manage conflict, and concerns that cause disappointment or frustration
  • Have expert project management skills and be comfortable leading 3-10 person project teams
  • Have strong problem solving and negotiation skills in a client-facing environment
  • Have strong leadership and people management skills
  • Have the ability to work effectively under significant deadline pressure
  • Supervisory Responsibilities include coordinating and leading projects, managing and leadingothers, and managing a functional area or programWorking overtime may be required


Technical Requirements
  • Familiarity with Project Management Software a plus
  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, AdobeProfessional, and PowerPoint
  • Competent in Basecamp and Proof HQ a plus
  • Knowledge of digital (email/web) executional processes a plus


Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years direct mail work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Flexible during times of change


Experience
Minimum of 12 years experience in a related field
Significant leadership experience required

Education
Associates or Bachelors degree required
